Create Abundance at Home #9: Carve a quiet space

Make a quiet space where you can meditate, chant, daydream, draw, journal, knit, or just simply relax. Some of us may have the option of moving furniture around  to create a cozy corner. For others, it might mean just designating any already comfy location (like a spot on the sofa) as a relaxation zone.

We like to sit on the couch and daydream in front of our "magic garden"-- complete with a gnome and fountain!

Furnish your quiet space with things that are emotionally meaningful to you. Display pictures of loved ones and keepsakes. Frame a favorite poem. Keep a scented candle (or incense) and matches on hand. Stock the area with a journal or a drawing pad and crayons. Spread a beautiful (or handmade, if you're lucky enough to have one) rug, quilt, or blanket. Cuddle a cute pillow. Give the space some additional life by adding a plant.

The biggest challenge, and the most importantly thing, is to remember to make use of the space daily. Regardless of whether it's five minutes or an hour, we benefit from allowing ourselves the time to just be ourselves.
