Clear out your closet a bit by donating a gently worn coat to the annual New York Cares Coat Drive. The organization aims to collect and distribute 100,000 coats to the 18.7% of New Yorkers living in poverty. You can drop off up to 10 coats at any NYC police precinct, bring a coat to a coat drive like the one at Green Drinks NYC Holiday Party (admission is free with a coat), or host a coat drive of your own. Donations must be made by December 31st.

Update 11/22: Green Drinks NYC Holiday Party admission is no longer free with a coat donation, but a portion of the door fee will be donated to New York Cares.
